Bromeliad Guzmania Tala A high-class Copacabana feel in your home. This flamboyant flowering Brazilian trumpet has an infectious effect on its surroundings. The most noticeable thing about Guzmania Tala are the brightly colored bracts that emerge from a beautiful rosette to form a funnel. Those bracts come in fantastic colors: bright red, deep orange, yellow, green, pink, purple, white or bicoloured. The rosettes contain absorbent hairs and scales which act like biological blotting paper, enabling the plant to absorb water and nutrients. Small flowers bloom amidst the bracts. Guzmania Tala is a plant that gives it’s all, and then gives up after flowering.

Place the Guzmania Tala Orange in a well-lit area in the house away from direct afternoon sun. Give the plant water in the chalice, which is the heart of the plant from where the flower grows. From this heart, the plant feeds itself. Once the water is no longer visible, the plant should be watered again.

As soon as the Guzmania Tala Orange flower loses its color and becomes brown, it is slowly dying. Time has come to get a new one as a bromelia blossoms only once. It is however possible that you can see cuttings appear after blossoming. When you water this young plant and after two weeks plant it with its roots in its own pot, you can nurture it into a mature plant. This takes about a year before the plant is ready to flower.
